From doing your own design and creating your own stents, to using novel materials to treat 6 anterior teeth with the injection technique, we will use custom made working models that replicate a real live case, In this interactive hands on experience we will help you fine tune your planning and clinical skills with techniques that you can take directly to your practice.

After graduating from the University of Stellenbosch in 1999, Jean worked in private practice in the Netherlands and United Kingdom. Returning to South Africa, he achieved his Postgraduate Diploma in Aesthetic dentistry at the University of Western Cape (Cum Laude) and a Masters Degree in Restorative Dentistry in 2019.
After years of postgraduate training and continuous lecturing and education, he has developed a deep passion and understanding of reconstructive dentistry. He believes that creating durable improvements of the entire (oral) health structure is only possible if we can achieve predictability, durability and beauty. This belief has led him to complete an intensive course in Advanced Reconstructive Dentistry with the Academy of Reconstructive Dentistry in the Netherlands
Jean played an integral role in the founding of the South African Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry (SAAAD) and currently serves on the executive board as Immediate Past President. He is also a member and fellow of the International Team for Implantology, Chair of the Scientific committee of the South African Dental Association and co-founder of The Bridge Program that aims to support the development of newly qualified dentists. Through his ongoing involvement in training and education courses Jean helps support the South African dental community and its development.
Dr Traut graduated at the top is his class from the University of the Western Cape in 2016. The following year he completed his community service in Simon’s Town on the Southern Peninsula of the Western Cape.
Between 2018 and 2020 he worked at a private practice in Centurion, Gauteng.
In 2021 he set up his practice in Bryanston with modern, digitally driven dentistry at the core of its operations. This includes laser dentistry, intraoral scanning, 3D printing, milling of restorations and a variety of computer-aided design (CAD) software’s.
In 2022 he completed a diploma in Advanced Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry at the prestigious Implant and Aesthetic Academy’s (IAA).
Dr Traut is passionate about digital dentistry, fixed and aligner orthodontics as well as facial aesthetic medicine.
Dr Traut has a particular love for the ‘Align, Bleach and Bond’ treatment philosophy in dentistry and the use of digitally guided resin restorations implemented with the injection-moulding technique.
He uses a full in-house workflow from design to implementation and has upskilled his knowledge on how the design elements, model printing, stent production and clinical execution of injection-molding all interplay to provide predictably beautiful, long lasting, restorations; with minimal cleanup; every time.
